# Brainwaves vs AMICCOM OTA

The clearest difference is rating: Brainwaves at 4.4 against AMICCOM OTA's 2.5. Brainwaves also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 6). AMICCOM OTA's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 19) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainwaves sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. AMICCOM OTA asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainwaves holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainwaves has 3.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brainwaves ships an update weekly, AMICCOM OTA every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
