# Prayer Notes vs My Sermon Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Prayer Notes at 4.7 against My Sermon Notes's 3.8. Prayer Notes also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 13). My Sermon Notes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.1.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prayer Notes sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. My Sermon Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Prayer Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prayer Notes has 3.8K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Prayer Notes's written reviews are positive against 80% of My Sermon Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prayer Notes ships an update every 2 months, My Sermon Notes monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
