# PC Gamer (UK) vs SwitchBuddy

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SwitchBuddy at 80% against PC Gamer (UK)'s 31%. SwitchBuddy also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 12) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). PC Gamer (UK)'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PC Gamer (UK) sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and SwitchBuddy sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PC Gamer (UK) holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SwitchBuddy has 1.6K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of PC Gamer (UK)'s written reviews are positive against 80% of SwitchBuddy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PC Gamer (UK) ships an update every 2 months, SwitchBuddy every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
