# Xochi vs Audio Unit Player

The clearest difference is rating: Xochi at 5.0 against Audio Unit Player's 3.9. Xochi also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Audio Unit Player's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (32 vs 2). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Audio Unit Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Xochi asks for nothing beyond the download.

Xochi holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Audio Unit Player has 32 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Xochi's written reviews are positive against 67% of Audio Unit Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Xochi ships an update every 2 months, Audio Unit Player every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
