# OpenDrive vs DriveHQ File Manager

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DriveHQ File Manager at 63% against OpenDrive's 15%. DriveHQ File Manager also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). OpenDrive's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (43 vs 9). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenDrive sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and DriveHQ File Manager sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OpenDrive holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 43 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of OpenDrive's written reviews are positive against 63% of DriveHQ File Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
