# ORF ON vs TV

The clearest difference is rating: TV at 5.0 against ORF ON's 4.0. TV also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). ORF ON's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 11%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ORF ON has 127 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of ORF ON's written reviews are positive against 11% of TV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ORF ON ships an update every 2 months, TV every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
