# MFL Platinum vs MFL Modern

The clearest difference is rating: MFL Platinum at 3.3 against MFL Modern's 3.0. MFL Platinum also leads on ratings volume (37 vs 4). MFL Modern's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 39%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MFL Platinum sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MFL Modern sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MFL Platinum holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MFL Platinum has 37 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of MFL Platinum's written reviews are positive against 50% of MFL Modern's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MFL Platinum ships an update every 2 weeks, MFL Modern weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
