# Digital Pan vs Sheet Music Scanner

The clearest difference is price: Sheet Music Scanner at Free against Digital Pan's $9.99. Sheet Music Scanner also leads on ratings volume (6.5K vs 195) and chart position (#130 vs unranked). Digital Pan's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and review sentiment (71% vs 61%). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Sheet Music Scanner is free to download; Digital Pan costs $9.99 up front. Sheet Music Scanner sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Digital Pan asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sheet Music Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sheet Music Scanner has 6.5K ratings behind it against 195, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Digital Pan's written reviews are positive against 61% of Sheet Music Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Digital Pan ships an update every 6 weeks, Sheet Music Scanner every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
