# Formula Nova vs Softball Bound

The clearest difference is rating: Softball Bound at 4.8 against Formula Nova's 3.4. Softball Bound also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Formula Nova sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Softball Bound sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Softball Bound holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Softball Bound has 204 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Formula Nova's written reviews are positive against 87% of Softball Bound's.

Formula Nova ships an update every 5 months, Softball Bound every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
