# New Republic vs FlipHTML5

The clearest difference is rating: New Republic at 4.7 against FlipHTML5's 3.0. New Republic also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 8) and review sentiment (36% vs 15%). FlipHTML5's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. New Republic sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and FlipHTML5 sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

New Republic holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: New Republic has 2.6K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 36% of New Republic's written reviews are positive against 15% of FlipHTML5's.

New Republic ships an update every 4 months, FlipHTML5 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
