# New Republic vs Space.com

The clearest difference is ratings volume: New Republic at 2.6K against Space.com's 2. New Republic also leads on chart position (#200 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Space.com's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. New Republic sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Space.com sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Space.com holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: New Republic has 2.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 36% of New Republic's written reviews are positive against 50% of Space.com's.

New Republic ships an update every 4 months, Space.com every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
