# abc+ vs AppNews

The clearest difference is rating: abc+ at 4.7 against AppNews's 3.5. abc+ also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.1). AppNews's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 27) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. abc+ sells 27 one-off in-app purchases. AppNews asks for nothing beyond the download.

abc+ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of abc+'s written reviews are positive against 48% of AppNews's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

abc+ ships an update every 3 months, AppNews every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
