# Glow Paint. vs LEGO® Boost

The clearest difference is rating: LEGO® Boost at 4.6 against Glow Paint.'s 3.7. LEGO® Boost also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 23 months) and ratings volume (4.3K vs 66). Glow Paint.'s advantage is iOS requirement (5.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LEGO® Boost holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LEGO® Boost has 4.3K ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Glow Paint.'s written reviews are positive against 66% of LEGO® Boost's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Glow Paint. ships an update every 23 months, LEGO® Boost every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
