# PDF Pro vs PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App at 100% against PDF Pro's 60%. PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). PDF Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (6.9K vs 23). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Pro sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Pro has 6.9K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of PDF Pro's written reviews are positive against 100% of PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Pro ships an update every 2 months, PDF Scanner, PDF Editor App fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
