# GL2GO vs Freedom

The clearest difference is update cadence: Freedom at every 4 months against GL2GO's every 37 months. Freedom also leads on ratings volume (276 vs 2). GL2GO's advantage is rating (3.5 vs 3.2) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GL2GO holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freedom has 276 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of GL2GO's written reviews are positive against 47% of Freedom's.

GL2GO ships an update every 37 months, Freedom every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
