# What Note Is This? vs Hearing PRO

The clearest difference is rating: Hearing PRO at 3.9 against What Note Is This?'s 2.7. Hearing PRO also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 3). What Note Is This?'s advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 21%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 32 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

What Note Is This? costs $0.99 and Hearing PRO $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hearing PRO holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hearing PRO has 21 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of What Note Is This?'s written reviews are positive against 21% of Hearing PRO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

What Note Is This? ships an update every 2 months, Hearing PRO every 32 months. Both last shipped on October 5, 2026.
