# RayView vs Ocean Signal

The clearest difference is rating: Ocean Signal at 5.0 against RayView's 2.7. Ocean Signal also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months). RayView's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ocean Signal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RayView has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of RayView's written reviews are positive against 40% of Ocean Signal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RayView ships an update every 12 months, Ocean Signal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
