# Prey vs FindItNow

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Prey at none against FindItNow's 2. Prey also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (4K vs 9). FindItNow's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FindItNow sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Prey asks for nothing beyond the download.

Prey holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prey has 4K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Prey's written reviews are positive against 100% of FindItNow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prey ships an update every 4 weeks, FindItNow every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
