Classic Memory, at your own pace. Clear, classic playing cards with traditional English-pattern court cards on a deep green felt table. You can also swap the card faces for pictures such as animals or sweets. Twenty cards are dealt face down in a 5 x 4 grid. Turn over two at a time: matching ranks (or identical pictures) leave the table, while different ones turn face down again. Match all ten pairs to win. The timer starts with your first card, and each second card counts as one try. Every game earns coins: 10 for a clear, 2 for a game that ends with at least four pairs matched, plus a daily bonus. Clearing with no misses or quickly (within 30 or 40 seconds) earns extra coins. A miss is a pair you could have matched if you had remembered a card you had already seen. The result panel shows your misses and bonuses. There are 21 picture sets of 10 pictures each. The shop has 15: sweets, flowers, instruments, jewels, chess pieces, fruit, vehicles, sea creatures, antiques, shells, animals, dinosaurs, Japanese sweets, bonsai and constellations. Six secret sets can only be found by exploring: harbor townsfolk, cloud shapes, leaves, nearly identical cats, buttons in different colors and kaleidoscopes. Each set has its own style, such as watercolor, ukiyo-e, printmaking, stained glass, paper cutting or crayon. Some sets are hard to tell apart, for experienced players. Besides pictures, the shop offers card backs, JQK art, tables and win effects. Mix them freely in Dress Up. Choose from three places to explore: the Palace Card Room, the Harbor Antique Shop and the Starlit Night Train. Every 20 games, the exploration ends and you always find an item. If you find one you already own, you can trade it for coins. Luck Up (rarer items are more likely in the next exploration) and Quick steps (each game counts as two steps until the current exploration ends) are available only when you choose to watch a rewarded ad. On your first launch, a three-page guide introduces the rules, the collection and exploration. Read it again anytime from How to play in Settings. Free, with ads. No in-app purchases. Gameplay works offline from your first launch; ads use an internet connection. Coins and items are saved on your device; games in progress are not saved. Choose sound and language in Settings. For iPhone and iPad. Supports Japanese, English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Concentration Sushi at 95% against Memory Cards's 44%. Concentration Sushi also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Memory Cards's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Memory Cards holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Memory Cards has 19 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Concentration Sushi's written reviews are positive against 44% of Memory Cards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Concentration Sushi ships an update every 3 months, Memory Cards every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
