# Countdown vs Planner for AC

The clearest difference is price: Countdown at Free against Planner for AC's $0.99. Countdown also leads on ratings volume (51 vs 7) and review sentiment (52% vs 43%). Planner for AC's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and ads (none vs shown). On update cadence, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Countdown is free to download; Planner for AC costs $0.99 up front. Countdown sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Planner for AC sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Planner for AC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 51 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Countdown's written reviews are positive against 43% of Planner for AC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
