# It Is Written vs Short Points

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Short Points at 100% against It Is Written's 53%. Short Points also leads on iOS requirement (7.0 vs 18.0). It Is Written's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 5 months vs every 24 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

It Is Written holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: It Is Written has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of It Is Written's written reviews are positive against 100% of Short Points's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

It Is Written ships an update every 5 months, Short Points every 24 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
