# bSafe vs Lightsaber flashlight

The clearest difference is update cadence: bSafe at every 3 weeks against Lightsaber flashlight's every 11 months. bSafe also leads on ratings volume (208 vs 22) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). Lightsaber flashlight's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 33%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. bSafe sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and Lightsaber flashlight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

bSafe holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: bSafe has 208 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of bSafe's written reviews are positive against 56% of Lightsaber flashlight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

bSafe ships an update every 3 weeks, Lightsaber flashlight every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
