# College Algebra vs Math Hero

The clearest difference is update cadence: Math Hero at every 10 days against College Algebra's every 7 months. Math Hero also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). College Algebra's advantage is ratings volume (600 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. College Algebra sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Math Hero sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Math Hero holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: College Algebra has 600 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of College Algebra's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Hero's.

College Algebra ships an update every 7 months, Math Hero every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
