# FlipCards vs Flippy

The clearest difference is rating: Flippy at 4.8 against FlipCards's 4.0. Flippy also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months) and device support (6 vs 2). FlipCards's advantage is review sentiment (88% vs 59%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlipCards sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flippy sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flippy holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 19 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of FlipCards's written reviews are positive against 59% of Flippy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlipCards ships an update every 3 months, Flippy every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
