# FrameMagic vs PhotoFrame Simple

The clearest difference is ads: FrameMagic at none against PhotoFrame Simple's shown. PhotoFrame Simple's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FrameMagic sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PhotoFrame Simple sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PhotoFrame Simple holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 890 and 414 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of FrameMagic's written reviews are positive against 56% of PhotoFrame Simple's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
