# Spelling Notebook vs ReWords

The clearest difference is rating: ReWords at 5.0 against Spelling Notebook's 4.6. ReWords also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). Spelling Notebook's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spelling Notebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ReWords sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReWords holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spelling Notebook has 2.7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spelling Notebook ships an update every 3 months, ReWords every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
