# ZAKER vs 澎湃新闻

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ZAKER at none against 澎湃新闻's 11. 澎湃新闻's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (2.6K vs 391). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 澎湃新闻 sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. ZAKER asks for nothing beyond the download.

澎湃新闻 holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 澎湃新闻 has 2.6K ratings behind it against 391, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of ZAKER's written reviews are positive against 79% of 澎湃新闻's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
