# Black Frame vs Frame Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Black Frame at 100% against Frame Pro's 50%. Black Frame also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Frame Pro's advantage is price (Free vs $4.99) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Frame Pro is free to download; Black Frame costs $4.99 up front. Frame Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Black Frame asks for nothing beyond the download.

Frame Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Black Frame has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Black Frame's written reviews are positive against 50% of Frame Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
