# Pearltrees vs SHIFTAR

The clearest difference is rating: SHIFTAR at 4.8 against Pearltrees's 4.2. SHIFTAR also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (572 vs 186). Pearltrees's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (86% vs 76%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pearltrees sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SHIFTAR sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SHIFTAR holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 186 and 572 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Pearltrees's written reviews are positive against 76% of SHIFTAR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pearltrees ships an update every 3 months, SHIFTAR monthly. Both last shipped on October 11, 2026.
