# magicApp Calling & Messaging vs Second Phone Number

The clearest difference is rating: magicApp Calling & Messaging at 4.7 against Second Phone Number's 4.3. magicApp Calling & Messaging also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 911) and device support (3 vs 1). Second Phone Number's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 49%) and chart position (#144 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. magicApp Calling & Messaging sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Second Phone Number sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

magicApp Calling & Messaging holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: magicApp Calling & Messaging has 26K ratings behind it against 911, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of magicApp Calling & Messaging's written reviews are positive against 64% of Second Phone Number's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
