# Waypoint vs MapItFast

The clearest difference is update cadence: MapItFast at every 5 weeks against Waypoint's every 3 months. Waypoint's advantage is review sentiment (44% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 13.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MapItFast holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 39 and 15 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Waypoint's written reviews are positive against 33% of MapItFast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Waypoint ships an update every 3 months, MapItFast every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
