# SampleTank CS vs Skoog

The clearest difference is ratings volume: SampleTank CS at 144 against Skoog's 8. SampleTank CS also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SampleTank CS sells 15 one-off in-app purchases and Skoog sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Skoog holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SampleTank CS has 144 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of SampleTank CS's written reviews are positive against 25% of Skoog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SampleTank CS ships an update every 2 months, Skoog every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
