# Nest vs emberconnect

The clearest difference is rating: Nest at 4.6 against emberconnect's 1.7. Nest also leads on ratings volume (2.6M vs 16) and chart position (#74 vs unranked). emberconnect's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nest holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nest has 2.6M ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Nest's written reviews are positive against 13% of emberconnect's.

Nest ships an update every 2 months, emberconnect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
