# NHL vs Ovi Record

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ovi Record at 86% against NHL's 35%. Ovi Record also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8) and ads (none vs shown). NHL's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (135K vs 1). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NHL sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Ovi Record asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ovi Record holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NHL has 135K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of NHL's written reviews are positive against 86% of Ovi Record's.

NHL ships an update fortnightly, Ovi Record every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
