# Detector vs Recipes2

The clearest difference is ads: Recipes2 at none against Detector's shown. Detector's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 10 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Detector ships an update every 10 days, Recipes2 every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
