# My Altitude vs Compass Direction

My Altitude and Compass Direction both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 66% of My Altitude's written reviews are positive against 34% of Compass Direction's. My Altitude also leads on ratings volume (27K vs 2.7K). Compass Direction's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Altitude sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year and Compass Direction sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for My Altitude against 4.6 for Compass Direction. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Altitude has 27K ratings behind it against 2.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two.
