# METAR Reader vs PDF Search PRO

The clearest difference is price: METAR Reader at $3.99 against PDF Search PRO's $29.99. METAR Reader also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (67 vs 9). PDF Search PRO's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 39%) and chart position (#170 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

METAR Reader costs $3.99 and PDF Search PRO $29.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

METAR Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: METAR Reader has 67 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of METAR Reader's written reviews are positive against 80% of PDF Search PRO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

METAR Reader ships an update every 3 months, PDF Search PRO every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
