# Crazy 8s vs Crazy Eights

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Crazy 8s at 63% against Crazy Eights's 15%. Crazy 8s also leads on ratings volume (387 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). Crazy Eights's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Crazy Eights holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crazy 8s has 387 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Crazy 8s's written reviews are positive against 15% of Crazy Eights's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Crazy 8s ships an update every 2 months, Crazy Eights every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
