# DStv Stream vs MG Reality

The clearest difference is rating: DStv Stream at 4.5 against MG Reality's 4.0. DStv Stream also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 23). MG Reality's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DStv Stream holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DStv Stream has 11K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
