# DStv Stream vs Moreplex

The clearest difference is ads: Moreplex at none against DStv Stream's shown. Moreplex also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). DStv Stream's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 5) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DStv Stream holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DStv Stream has 12K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of DStv Stream's written reviews are positive against 50% of Moreplex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DStv Stream ships an update monthly, Moreplex every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
