# DStv Stream vs CAF Events

The clearest difference is rating: CAF Events at 5.0 against DStv Stream's 4.5. CAF Events also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). DStv Stream's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CAF Events holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DStv Stream has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DStv Stream ships an update monthly, CAF Events every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
