# Highlands vs Ft McClellan

The clearest difference is rating: Highlands at 4.8 against Ft McClellan's 3.0. Highlands also leads on ratings volume (462 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Ft McClellan's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Highlands holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Highlands has 462 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Highlands's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ft McClellan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Highlands ships an update every 3 weeks, Ft McClellan every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
