# Mathway vs Maphi

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Maphi at 93% against Mathway's 51%. Maphi also leads on iOS requirement (10 vs 17.0). Mathway's advantage is ratings volume (425K vs 39) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mathway sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Maphi sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mathway holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mathway has 425K ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Mathway's written reviews are positive against 93% of Maphi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mathway ships an update every 4 weeks, Maphi fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and July 16, 2026 respectively.
