# Mathway vs Homework Helper

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Mathway at 425K against Homework Helper's 7. Mathway also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months) and chart position (#117 vs unranked). Homework Helper's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mathway sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Homework Helper sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Mathway against 5.0 for Homework Helper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mathway has 425K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mathway ships an update every 4 weeks, Homework Helper every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
