# Snake vs Snakes and Ladders Ultimate

The clearest difference is rating: Snakes and Ladders Ultimate at 5.0 against Snake's 4.1. Snakes and Ladders Ultimate also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Snake's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (123 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snakes and Ladders Ultimate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Snake asks for nothing beyond the download.

Snakes and Ladders Ultimate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snake has 123 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Snake's written reviews are positive against 49% of Snakes and Ladders Ultimate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Snake ships an update every 2 months, Snakes and Ladders Ultimate every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
