# Vivint Classic vs ADT Control ®

The clearest difference is rating: ADT Control ® at 4.8 against Vivint Classic's 2.3. ADT Control ® also leads on ratings volume (495K vs 761) and chart position (#110 vs unranked). Vivint Classic's advantage is review sentiment (24% vs 12%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ADT Control ® holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ADT Control ® has 495K ratings behind it against 761, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Vivint Classic's written reviews are positive against 12% of ADT Control ®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
