# Math. vs Common Core Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: Common Core Prep at freemium against Math.'s subscription. Common Core Prep also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months). Math.'s advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 14) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Math. sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Common Core Prep sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Math. holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math. has 1.6K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Math. ships an update every 3 months, Common Core Prep every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 9, 2026 respectively.
