# Whopping Diggers vs Train Sounds Effects

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Whopping Diggers at 105 against Train Sounds Effects's 10. Whopping Diggers also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.3). Train Sounds Effects's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 64%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whopping Diggers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Train Sounds Effects sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whopping Diggers holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Whopping Diggers has 105 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Whopping Diggers's written reviews are positive against 73% of Train Sounds Effects's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Whopping Diggers ships an update every 2 months, Train Sounds Effects every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
