# HP vs Link to Windows

The clearest difference is rating: HP at 4.7 against Link to Windows's 4.0. HP also leads on ratings volume (4.2M vs 17K). Link to Windows's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (56% vs 36%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HP holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HP has 4.2M ratings behind it against 17K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of HP's written reviews are positive against 56% of Link to Windows's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HP ships an update every 2 months, Link to Windows fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
