# Color vs Grid Defense

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Color at none against Grid Defense's 1. Color also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Grid Defense's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 23 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grid Defense sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Color asks for nothing beyond the download.

Color ships an update every 23 months, Grid Defense every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
